Apple Not Expected To Include Vision Pro Headband In Packaging
Apple, the tech giant headquartered in Cupertino, has revealed its much-awaited Vision Pro headset at WWDC 2023. The headset, which costs $3,499, is set to hit the market in the early months of next year. However, a recent report suggests that the company will not include the overhead strap in the retail package of the Vision Pro headset.
With the ability to seamlessly switch between virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), the headset offers users a unique experience where digital images blend into the real environment.
The headphones come with a stretchy 3D knitted fabric headband that fits around the users head behind the ears. But there’s another strap that the company hasn’t mentioned yet, Gizmochina reports.
An extra top strap would probably help balance the headset and prevent it from easily falling off when the user moves. The tech giant has yet to reveal the weight of the Vision Pro, but it is expected to be quite hefty, especially since the company decided to move the battery to an external pack, the report added.
According to the report, adding a strap to the head could significantly balance the weight of the device and improve the user experience. Since the company did not discuss the top strap and did not present it in marketing materials, the Cupertino-based tech giant may plan to sell this strap as an accessory and not include it in the sales package of the headphones.
Meanwhile, another report has claimed that the Apple Vision Pro headset can create controls and displays and make them appear on any surface in the user’s room.
According to a post by AppleInsider, developer Steve Troughton Smith has discovered the ability to select a surface from the headset’s view and then position any app so that it appears to be on that surface.
